The four directions and the baseline at a glance
The baseline
Today, the line every direction must beat
The kit EKANA sells today: fully custom, the cheapest of any custom supplier, and no reason for a new club to switch.
- Buyer
- The club president, as for every supplier; he compares price, quality and delivery and signs
- Who pays
- Families, through whatever store the club has, or the club itself; EKANA today has no store of its own.
- Message
- None: today's offer, unchanged.
- What is new
- Nothing: this is the reference.
- What it gives up
- Nothing.
Direction A
Your club, looking like a real club, without paying more
A small club gets the look of a real club, inside the kit deal it already signs, at the price it already pays.
- Buyer
- The club president, or whoever signs the kit deal
- Who pays
- Families, as today, through the club's store, at the price they pay for kit now; the club keeps its cut.
- Message
- Your club will look like a real club, and it will not cost you more than the kit does today.
- What is new
- A website and a season of posts, inside the kit deal
- What it gives up
- Bidding the price down to win a club
- Breadth of catalogue
Direction B
We dress your team. We gather your town.
Every supplier stops when the boxes arrive. This one starts there, and what it builds is a town behind the club.
- Buyer
- Two buyers, and they are not the same person
- Who pays
- The club pays roughly what it pays for its kit today, and nothing more.
- Message
- We dress your team, the way you already buy it. Then we do the thing no supplier does: we put a town behind your club.
- What is new
- The campaign that gathers the town
- Clothing the town can wear
- A shirt you cannot buy
- What it gives up
- The box in somebody's living room
- The range
- What the club has to run
Direction C
The kit sorted, nothing to chase
Sizes collected once, a pack made up for every child, the whole club delivered on one day, spares kept in Madrid.
- Buyer
- The parent who pays for the pack and the volunteer who runs the club's order
- Who pays
- Families, through the club's order page, at the price EKANA charges today, which is the cheapest custom kit a club in Madrid can buy.
- Message
- Give us the sizes once. Every pack arrives made up, on one day, with spares on a shelf in Madrid. Nothing to chase.
- What is new
- A pack per child, one delivery
- What it gives up
- The volunteer's guess
- Sorting and storing kit at the club
- Breadth of catalogue
Direction D
The same shirt, for as long as you want it.
The club settles its design once and keeps it; we buy its cloth in one go and hold it, so every shirt after the first comes faster, matches, and costs what it cost the first time.
- Buyer
- The club president, at the moment his current supplier contract runs out, which is the only moment he can move
- Who pays
- Families pay for kit the way they do today, at the same price.
- Message
- Choose the shirt once. We buy the cloth and keep it, and for as long as you want that shirt you can order more of it, and it will match.
- What is new
- The same shirt, years later
- What it gives up
- The seasonal redesign
- Ease and speed of custom design
- Breadth of catalogue
Direction B is the one that asks for something we do not already have: a cushion for the pieces of one club's first run that pre-orders do not cover, held in Madrid until they sell. Directions A, C and D, and the baseline, ask for nothing we do not have.
What all four hold to
Two things are the same in every direction on this page, which is why neither of them is one of the four actions on any of them.
- Nothing is paid for before it is seen. The kit designs, and whatever else the direction builds for the club, are finished and on the table at the first meeting, before the club has committed to anything.
- No money moves until the president is holding a produced sample of his own club’s kit. It is made in Egypt, so it takes weeks, and it comes before any deposit.
This is how EKANA sells, whichever of the four wins. None of them is different for it, so none of them claims it.
Each direction is explained on its own five pages; this page is here to come back to.
